Stamped Concrete Patio in Arnold Maryland

For this job, MD Curbscape is back in Anne Arundel County. This time at a new construction home in the Arnold area. The pictures show why this project is referred to as the Gray house, with gray siding and a complementary gray concrete foundation.

Designing the Gray House Stamped Concrete Patio

The homeowners wanted the existing sod put in by the builders removed and replaced with a beautiful patio feature. After meeting with the design team, the homeowners decided on a contoured design in the ever-popular stamped concrete finish. They chose a slate tile design in lighter gray tones to tie in with the gray foundation and siding colors.

The project began with the team performing sod removal in the future patio area. This was the easiest part of the process. After the sod removal, the form was built with soft curves to really give this patio life and create a unique focal point in the backyard.

A Fun Fact About Stamped Concrete Design Shapes

Are you considering a patio with a fun design like the Gray house, but worry it will be too expensive? At MD Curbscape, there are no additional costs if you decide on a free-form shape instead of the standard square or rectangular design.

The size and square footage of the final project determine the cost, not the shape. So if you’ve been putting off getting your dream patio put in because you think it’ll cost too much for the shape you want, you don’t have to put it off any longer. Our design team can help you design the right shape for your vision at no extra cost.

Now, back to the patio at the Gray house.

Creating the Gray House Patio

After the team put the form in place, it was time to get busy laying the concrete. The team quickly got the concrete poured, then stamped in the homeowner’s desired slate tile design.

Before they stamped in the design, the gray stain accents were applied to make this plain and boring concrete patio pop. We can do this simple technique in any color you can imagine, creating the look of expensive stone without the price tag or upkeep required.

They stamped the tile pattern, and before the homeowners knew it, it was time for sealer and to call this project done. Of course, they had to wait to put their brand new patio to use until the concrete had cured.

The Start of a Backyard Oasis

The homeowners couldn’t wait to use their new patio. They excitedly chatted about backyard BBQs and making future memories with friends and family.

The team had transformed the boring sod into a lovely and unique patio area for them to enjoy for years to come. A stamped concrete patio is always an excellent choice, and homeowners love the results they receive from a simple technique.

We never tire of these transformations. We hope you enjoyed the results at the Gray house.
